‘Pixie’ is a charming, compact Japanese maple that brings sophisticated colour and form to gardens of any size.
True to its name, this diminutive variety maintains a naturally small stature, growing slowly to reach approximately 2.5m tall and 2m wide. Its upright, well-balanced form develops naturally with minimal pruning required.
The show begins in spring when the distinctively shaped leaves, each with seven finely toothed, tapering lobes, emerge in soft pink tones. As summer approaches, the foliage deepens to a rich purple-red that provides months of consistent colour. The autumn finale is particularly spectacular, with leaves transforming to brilliant scarlet.
Adding to its seasonal interest, small green flowers appear in spring, followed by decorative winged red fruits in autumn that complement the changing foliage colours.
‘Pixie’ is perfectly suited to small gardens, courtyard spaces, or container growing, where its compact size and steady growth rate make it easy to maintain. Its upright habit means it can fit into narrow spaces while still creating significant impact.

With regret, we can no longer send items out to Northern Ireland. All live plants need a phytosanitary checks and DAERA must be notified. This process is simply too expensive at the moment.

We are a small family business based in Euxton, West Lancashire. We specialise in the supply of trees, shrubs both bare root & cell grown. Much of our stock is grown directly on site from seed or cuttings. Other stock is all UK sourced where possible.
