‘Skyrocket’ is known for its striking, narrow, columnar form. It has tightly packed, silvery-blue foliage that gives it a particularly sleek and modern appearance. This foliage remains consistent in colour throughout the year, making it an attractive evergreen option for gardens.

It’s a fast-growing variety that can reach heights of up to 15 feet or more, but it remains narrow, typically not exceeding 2-3 feet in width. This slender profile makes it a favourite for tight spaces or for creating vertical interest.

Like most junipers, ‘Skyrocket’ is hardy and adaptable. It thrives best in full sun and prefers well-drained soil. It’s drought-tolerant once established, making it a good option for xeriscaping (reducing or eliminating the need for irrigation) or low-maintenance gardens.

Uses in Landscaping
Thanks to its unique form, ‘Skyrocket’ can serve various purposes in landscaping:

  1. Screening: Its tall, slim profile is excellent for creating privacy screens or windbreaks without taking up much horizontal space.
  2. Specimen Plant: It’s a standout feature when planted alone, especially in smaller gardens where its verticality can be highlighted.
  3. Borders: Planted in a row, they can create a striking border or delineation in larger landscapes.

Maintenance
‘Skyrocket’ is relatively low maintenance. Regular watering during its establishment is beneficial, but mature plants can handle some neglect. It naturally grows upward without much lateral branching, so pruning needs are minimal unless a specific height is desired.
