The Dawn Redwood cultivar ‘Blue-isch’ stands out among its relatives for its distinctively fine, delicate foliage and unique colouration. What makes this variety particularly special is its new growth, which emerges with a striking blue-purple tint that gives the tree an overall bluish appearance, inspiring its aptly chosen name. This moderately fast-growing cultivar can reach heights of up to 12 feet within a decade, making it an excellent choice for gardeners seeking a manageable yet impressive specimen tree.

The blue-tinted foliage provides an unusual and attractive contrast to the typical green hues found in most garden settings, while still maintaining the elegant, feathery texture characteristic of Dawn Redwoods. As the seasons progress, the foliage continues to offer visual interest, with the blue tones subtly shifting and evolving throughout the growing season.
