Natural Germination: Meyer’s Spruce seeds benefit from cold stratification to break dormancy. Planting them outdoors in autumn allows them to experience natural winter conditions, aiding in spring germination.
Artificial Stratification: For controlled germination, mix the seeds with a moist substrate and refrigerate for about a month. This simulates the natural cold period, preparing the seeds for successful germination when planted in warmer conditions. Cold stratification is completely optional.
