Giant Redwood ‘Healthy Mammoth Two’ – Sequoiadendron giganteum represents a significant achievement in Dutch conifer breeding by the esteemed Cornelius Kools. This sophisticated cultivar is part of an exclusive trio of Giant Redwoods developed through careful selection and breeding expertise.

What sets this cultivar apart is its exceptional resistance to fungal issues, combined with stunning, vibrant green foliage that maintains its colour throughout winter. The dense foliage structure creates a dense, appealing appearance that adds architectural interest to any garden setting.

Growing at a more measured pace than the species, this tree develops into a beautifully proportioned conical shape. Its slower growth rate makes it more manageable in larger gardens, whilst still offering the impressive presence associated with Giant Redwoods.

As part of Kools’ breeding programme, this tree represents an advancement in both aesthetics and resilience. The year-round green colouration, refusing to bronze in winter, ensures this specimen maintains its fresh appearance throughout the seasons.

Plant your Giant Redwood ‘Healthy Mammoth Two’ – Sequoiadendron giganteum in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Whilst adaptable to most soil types, it prefers slightly acidic to neutral conditions. Water regularly when young, particularly during dry spells, though established trees become quite drought tolerant. No regular pruning is needed as it naturally forms an attractive shape. A yearly feed with a balanced fertiliser in spring will keep it healthy. The tree is fully hardy but appreciates some shelter from strong winds while young.

Please note: Decorative pots shown are for display purposes only. Your tree will be supplied in a standard plastic nursery pot shown in the other pictures.
