Natural Germination: Siberian Pea Tree seeds benefit from scarification before planting. Alternatively, they can be sown directly in late January for natural stratification over winter.
Artificial Scarification: To scarify the seeds artificially, soak them in hot (not boiling) water for 24 hours before planting. You may need to repeat this a few times – make sure you remove the swollen seeds that were successfully scarified the first time. They benefit from 30 days in the fridge, however this isn’t strictly necessary.
