Autumn Interest Trees

Natural Germination: Larix gmelinii seeds benefit from the cold stratification naturally provided by winter conditions. Planting them outdoors in autumn allows them to undergo a necessary dormancy period, preparing them for sprouting in the spring.

Artificial Stratification: To artificially stratify Larix gmelinii seeds, mix them with moist sand or peat and refrigerate for about 4-6 weeks. This process simulates the natural cold period they would experience in the wild, enhancing germination success when planted indoors or in controlled conditions.

Natural germination of Larch is much preferred over the artificial method.
