Natural Germination: The seeds of Pinus armandii typically require a period of cold stratification to germinate effectively. This is naturally achieved by sowing the seeds outdoors in the autumn, allowing them to undergo the winter chill. This process mimics the natural environmental conditions, preparing the seeds for sprouting in the spring.

Artificial Stratification: To artificially stratify Pinus armandii seeds, mix them with moist sand and refrigerate at 2-5°C for about 90 days. This method simulates winter-like conditions, breaking the dormancy of the seeds. Following stratification, plant the seeds in a warm environment, ideally between 18-22°C, to encourage germination.
