The Nootka Cypress ‘Green Arrow’ is a remarkable narrow, upright evergreen with a striking columnar form. Its slender shape makes it perfect for gardens where horizontal space is limited. The dark green foliage hangs in graceful, weeping sprays that create an elegant, architectural presence throughout the year.

This variety grows as a tall, slim column, reaching heights of up to 10 metres while staying remarkably narrow at just 1 metre wide. The branches grow almost vertically, hugging close to the main stem, creating a neat, arrow-like shape that needs no pruning to maintain its form.

The foliage consists of flat, fernlike sprays that cascade downwards, giving the tree a soft, flowing appearance despite its rigid upright form. This combination of strong vertical growth and weeping foliage makes it an excellent choice for adding height without bulk to smaller gardens or narrow spaces.

‘Green Arrow’ grows best in moist, well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. While it appreciates regular watering when young, it becomes quite drought tolerant once established. It’s best to plant in a sheltered spot protected from harsh winds. No pruning is needed as it naturally maintains its narrow, columnar shape. A mulch around the base helps retain moisture and suppress weeds.
