This conifer is celebrated for its beautiful blue-green needles and a broad, pyramidal crown that becomes more open and spreading with age.
Ideal for larger landscapes in the UK, the Atlas Cedar requires ample space to showcase its grandeur, making it a perfect specimen tree. It thrives in full sun and adapts well to a variety of soil types, provided they are well-drained. Natural Germination: Atlas Cedar seeds typically require a cold period to break dormancy. In nature, seeds fall in autumn and go through winter’s cold, germinating in spring. Plant the seeds in autumn to align with this natural cycle.
Artificial Stratification: If planting at other times, soak for 24 hours, then optionally simulate this cold period by refrigerating the seeds for 30 days before sowing in a moist medium. Seeds should germinate at room temperature.
