The Blue Atlas Cedar ‘Glauca Pendula’ – Cedrus libani ‘Glauca Pendula’ is a stunning and rare evergreen tree with a captivating weeping habit. This unique cultivar originates from the mountains of Lebanon and is prized for its striking silvery-blue foliage and graceful, cascading branches.

Supplied at a height of 80/100cm in a 5L pot, this specimen creates a waterfall-like effect with its pendulous branches, adding elegance and drama to any garden. The silvery-blue needles, which are a hallmark of the ‘Glauca’ variety, shimmer in the sunlight, providing a captivating contrast to the rich, dark green foliage of other evergreens.

It thrives in a wide range of soil types, from well-drained sandy loams to heavy clay, and prefers a sunny to partially shaded location. The Blue Atlas Cedar ‘Glauca Pendula’ is also highly tolerant of coastal conditions, making it an excellent choice for gardens near the sea.

When it comes to care, this tree requires minimal pruning, with only occasional trimming of wayward branches to maintain its graceful, weeping form. Regular watering during the first year after planting is recommended to ensure the tree becomes well-established, but once mature, it is quite drought-tolerant. A light application of a balanced, slow-release fertiliser in early spring can also help promote healthy growth and vibrant foliage.
