‘Emerald Lace’ is characterized by its finely dissected leaves, which are deeply lobed and resemble delicate lacework. The leaves are typically bright green, hence the name ‘Emerald Lace,’ and they create a striking contrast against the tree’s reddish-pink stems. The leaves turn various shades of orange, red, and purple in the autumn, providing a stunning display of fall colour.
In terms of size, ‘Emerald Lace’ is a compact and slow-growing cultivar, making it suitable for smaller gardens or even container planting. It typically reaches a height of around 3 to 6 feet (approximately 1 to 2 meters) with a similar spread, although it can vary depending on growing conditions and pruning.
Planting & Growing Instructions
Plant in fertile, well drained and moist soil. Acer shrubs prefer sunny or partial shaded areas, and can also be grown in pots. If growing in pots make sure that the pot is large enough to support the shrub and that it also has plenty of drainage holes. Use John Innes compost if planting in pots.
Cultural Instructions
Acers should be watered on a regular basis, which will be even more important in hot Summers. Although its not necessary, you can prune back or cut dead wood in Spring.
Please note, Maple Acers are deciduous. If you are purchasing in late Autumn and Winter, there will be no leaves on these trees.
Please note: Decorative pots shown are for display purposes only. Your tree will be supplied in a standard plastic nursery pot shown in the other pictures.
